His own records have sold over 20,000,000 copies worldwide and since starting out his musical career, Moby has toured tirelessly, playing well over 3,000 concerts. Destroyed is the name of Moby's latest project which is a music album and a book of photography and is scheduled for release in Мay 2011 through his own record label, “Little Idiot”. The album and photo book combination provides an intimate look at Moby’s world and his creative process as an artist, both the music and photos were created in the same period and draw inspiration from the strange and sublime world of touring. Songs from the new album will be performed live at SPIRIT of Burgas and it’s sure to be something quite magical.
British band Skunk Anansie make a welcome return to the live music circuit and are set to perform on the festival’s Main Stage on Saturday, 13th of August. Iconic front woman Skin will be joined by fellow band members Cass, Ace and Mark Richardson with their unique sound, that shattered the conventional perceptions of rock music when they first appeared in the mid 90’s. With 5 million album sales under their belt, one of the most forthright, iconic, and confrontational female lead singers in modern musical history, a six-year back catalogue to make you quiver, Skunk Anansie are back! Following an eight-year hiatus, Skunk Anansie are re-born, revitalised and as confrontational as ever, fully armed with highly charged, brand new tracks, a blistering greatest hits record. Last year they returned with their epic new single Because Of You from their Greatest Hits record, Smashes and Trashes and we can expect a highly charged and exciting show from them at SPIRIT of Burgas.
Move forward twenty-four hours to the final night of the festival on Sunday 14th August and Californian band Deftones, will take to the Main Stage. Deftones are an American rock band from Sacramento, formed in 1988, consisting of lead singer Chino Moreno , Stephen Carpenter, Chi Cheng, Sergio Vega, Frank Delgado and Abe Cunningham. Their sound combines the booming rhythms of stoner rock with the experimental edge of prog and although they were mostly considered as a nu metal band in their early years, their sound progressively evolved into something more complex and experimental. With their sixth studio album “Diamond Eyes”, even those, who are not fans of the heavy rock sound, could not have missed the name Deftones after their track “My Own Summer (Shove It)” was included in the cult motion picture “The Matrix” Soundtrack. Alongside a heavy touring schedule, the artists have already focused themselves on a new LP with the working title “Eros”.
The festival will also feature over 100 acts across 5 stages, showcasing the best local and regional artists alongside top international acts. And what better location to experience it than Burgas city beach, with stunning views of the Black Sea coastline, stretching over 20km. Meanwhile, the team of the festival will delight the fans in Bulgaria with a series of parties throughout the country, as a warm up for the festival.
